About Us!
Who Are We?
Brenham Ares Retired School Personnel is an affiliate of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. All school personnel and those interested in supporting retired school personnel are welcome!
We promote the professional, economical, intellectual, social, and healthy well-being of retired school personnel. We encourage volunteering of time, talents, training, and experience in the community, state, and nation. We also stay abreast of legislation that may be of concern to our members.
We meet monthly, on the second Tuesday at 11 am, during the months of September through May at The Cannery in Brenham.
History
BARSP was originally organized in 1970 as Brenham Retired Teachers Association with 21 members. Throughout the years, several name changes have occurred. In 2010, the organization's name was changed to Brenham Area Retired School Personnel to include all TRS retirees in Washington County and surrounding areas including Sommerville, Caldwell, and Lyons.

2026-2027 Meeting and Programs
We meet monthly on the second Tuesday, September through May, at The Cannery in Brenham, Texas. Our meeting begin at 11 a.m. with lunch ($15/person) followed by an informative presentation and business meeting. The meeting dates and speaker topics are listed to the right.
